0-60 mph 3.3 seconds
From a car that looks like that :o

We've had a quote to weld in a poland special rear arch, prime, paint and blend, sort out the bumper where someone drove into us, blend in the scuff on the door where they drove into us again, and also sort out a couple of other rust bubbles for £750. Probably end up getting it done since we can't really afford £10K!

That is a good price, cost me £500 to repair one arch and fix paint after someone keyed the side... And it turned out to be a jobby filler job we know now even though I asked for new metal!

Well if we do decide to have it done I'll make sure to put a post up of the before and after.

I might even take the 'most rusty arches on a running prelude' crown :)

^ Now there's a thought...

That would satisfy the need for speed and be very practical. Hmm thanks Dino I'll have to look into one of themz.

Any info on the mods/costs/performance afterwards?

Downpipe decat 3" exhaust, induction kit and bluefin chip should see you near those figures.
Most bits can be bought on focus st owners club 2nd hand.
Total cost between £1-1.2k

Nice. Thanks Ammo, that's now on the cards.

The main reason the mrs is saying we can't keep the Prelude is because it doesn't have 5 seats. She's a private nanny looking after 3 kids, and will need to carry them around plus our future addition to the family.

Does anyone know if it might be possible to convert the rear middle seat so it could be used with a child seat? I guess it would involve adding a middle seatbelt, and maybe padding out the raised section to be flat, or replacing the whole rear seat lower/back parts...

If we could do that, it would mean we could get a few more years out of it, until the kid was a few years old, and then it might be worth sorting all the bodywork out, as well as getting a fast people carrier for weekend trips and my work.
