Graduated as a civil engineer from Cardiff uni in 2007, and took a job as a foundations engineer. The firm were still pricing work by hand so I knocked up a couple spread sheets and made the process a whole lot quicker, which then gave me the idea to do a QS spread sheet which could be distributed as there isn't anything decent about for under a grand. About 2 months after I had the idea the firm went under so took out a business loan and setup up a site; http://www.qsurveyit.com which does online quantity surveying that can be done by the pulic without any knowledge or any interaction from me at the back end of the site.

Essentially, DIY quantity surveying using the php code I've developed. I'm pretty sure I was the first to offer such things on the internet as I was a couple years ahead of the market but people are catching up now. I ran out of money for the project as it needs a significant investment (time and money) to get a good google ranking in the right searches to make a decent sum of money from so I'm working as a project managaer now and I'm in the process of selling the code and concept for some good money

nucleustylzlude, you may know the engineering firm. It was Geomechanical Foudations Limited, they're a specilist piling contractor based in Bristol.

There's a really good excel one online somewhere with graphs and all. Maybe that could be adapted? It's open source I think.

A little bit of OT: I have plans, but definitely not for this season

I am thinking about Eagle rods, Mahle Gold 11,5 CR, Skunk2 Pro2 Cams and valve train. Still thinking and reading, and doing it for several years

Because I left engine internals for last project part. Now it's: H22A8, Skunk2 IM, Skunk2 70mm TB, custom intake, Mugen exhaust header, 60mm exhaust piping, lightweight pulleys and Fidanza flywheel, catch can, 390cc injectors. So basically everything around the engine is done. Made 216 hp because of crappy mufflers. Very disappointed

This winter-spring: 76mm (still thinking about 70mm) exhaust piping and remade same mufflers, gearbox, air filter heat shield and bunch of JDM goodies

After changed exhaust want/planning at least more than 220 hp, its my psychological limit, how to say

I think I will create my profile and maybe get some advices there about engine build

I actually saw a pic of your engine bay in another thread after I posted and spotted alot of those items. Fair enough then, you made some nice changes and your staged plans look spot on to me.

That intake is pretty funky looking though!

Get a profile up definitely!

ok , my best fatasy box would be this, 1st from m2l5 2nd from m2p4 3rd from m2p4 4th from m2b4and 5th trom m2a5 running a 4.266 fd.
the graph on the left is the fantasy box while the other is an m2b4lsd.
blue bar is vtec crossover, red is @7000rpm while yellow is 8000rpm, idealy the red or yellow would need to be higher than the blue bar for the next gear.
m2b4 70mph crusing with std size wheels and a fd of 4.266 is 3400rpm while the new box would be 2950rpm @ 70mph (for better mpg)
is 3400rpm corect for 70 with the m2b4 box?
i tried loads of different combos for 1st and 2nd but cant get around the no vtec after shift, unless i move it further up the gears (not good

its not a link, its a spread sheet in open office, i can email it, but someone says it doest upload the formulas, i could try, if you have open office (its free) then all good ,or can send you the formulas and a how to for exel if you prefer

or for anyone else come to that

its simple to use, just insert gear ratios, rolling radius of wheels and rpm , all done.

also forgot earlyer the vtec crossover on the graph is 5250rpm
