To me heat wrap is only worth it if I can see proof that it has a higher thermal capacity than air. Until then science says no to me.

Was really for the price difference that i excluded an Ebay special.
i will dig out some pics of the oddball :)
ebay intake pipes suffer from heat soak - you can wrap them and spray coat them to overcome that - some very high horsepower track cars use wrap and spray so i assume it has some benefit

With more ludes now appearing in the scrapyards people wont be paying the JDM tax price on the so called type-s air intake.
Still got to be worth more than the £30 it costs for an Ebay special though.

Whats the going rate for a Type S intake with K+N drop in filter?? Around £120??

with a k&n? bit more i would think.

the pipes are ok its the filters on the ebay ones that are a bit shoddy.

If the resonator is still there give it a try..

@newkid:  its not a jdm tax mate its the price of a performance part  If you can show an OEM intake to offer the same (if not smoother) response as an aftermarket one costing 220£ then why should it be £40 SH? If you were to buy a H22A8 intake (which is what it is) from honda it would cost you just as much as an AEM.

Sound, cheers.

Not even sure what a 2nd hand AEM retails at. Might even be pushing my luck trying to get a swap for 1.

no - you should be able to access it from the driver side wheel well - take the wheel and arch liner out and then it should be 3 bolts to undo and thats it - you can also remove some stuff from the engine bay - cant remember what its called  - mind u thats a 4th gen but 5th gen should be the same :?

If you are going to tune your engine then defo go for the V2 or a long ram intake (that has a filter in the wing)

I will be getting an V2 or a long ram intake in the future. :geek:
