5th gen lude VTi

Post by preludave86 » Fri Jan 25, 2013 4:44 pm

i thought id move my profile across from preludeUK site :D
hey lude dudes

thought i better make myself known seen as i have been a member for a while :P

I've had the lude for nearly a year now, best car i've ever owned. This is my first lude, had a couple of civics previous. got some pics from when I bought it.

Motegi splitter is unfortunately a fibreglass rep and is in need of a respray
Image
I had just cleaned the car and it left water marks, i wasnt very good at cleaning back then lol.
Image
It came with the gold plated badges all round, managed to source some new ones but at a cost :(
Image
the car is suffering from spots of rust around the car, there's only one major bit on the rear drivers side arch, but has lately got quite large very quickly :?
Image

Day after i bought the car, the exhaust snapped so i had fitted a powerflow SS exhaust middle and back, just after a sports cat now.

found a set of cream leather seats from another lude which was off to the breakers, got a set of cream cloth seats on sale in the parts section.

just fitted new grooved and drilled discs all round with mintex pads, had to replace the rear calipers as they were binding and one had totally seized.
Image

things on the to to do/wish list:

full motegi kit, if i can find original kit otherwise a fibreglass rep,

just purchased some motegi 17" alloys :)

get all the rust sorted and a full respray,

replace the badges as the gold plating has faded alot,

get the red rocker cover,

and im thinking on the lowering side of about 40mm, is that too low or is that about right for this car??

This car has never let me down at all. I purchased this with 115k on the clock, lot of receipts for work carried out on it throughout the years and a nearly, if not all its MOT certs. I managed to pick this up for just short of a grand with full years MOT and tax :D

I know mine has got a long way to go to meet the standards of alot of the preludes on this site, but slowly i should get there, just funds aint great right now so its a very slow process

Looks good 8-) only standards you have to meet are your own ;)

40mm should be fine, although you may catch your front mudflaps on the occasional speedbump  mine are slowly trimming themselves.

Ludes tend to run a bit rich so unless it is majorly excessive I wouldn't panic.

oh its major on the fuelling lol, im only getting about 150-170 miles to a full tank, think it needs a new O2 sensor.

That old post from preludeUK was about 2 years ago lol, decided to just drop it 30mm now

Looks very nice indeed, Dave. :D I covet leather seats :(

Just out of interest, what symptoms are you getting driving with the O2 sensor (Apart from the economy) - I'm wondering if that's what's up with mine? Anything with tickover or VTEC or Warning lights?

(Off to bed - work in 5 hrzz zzzzz zzz....)
