Cleaning Car Carpets

Hi guys,

Just wondering if anyone knows whether you can put the carpets from cars through the washing machine? I'm worried it'll lose it's shape

Sorry guys I should've been more clear, I mean the actual carpet from the car, I've taken a photo this time

Not carpet mats, I know they can be washed and have done it before

If it does, I'd give it a try. Low temperature, slow spin.

I reckon it'll fit, scrunched up. But I'm worried if it gets wet whilst in a ball it might lose the shape of the floor pan

It definitely needs washing though - the sunroof on my Golf leaked and the floor was filled with stagnant water

stinks of rotten eggs in there now

I'm basically having to strip the car down to the shell inside to clean it - I'm thinking I might just leave it stripped

Ok, it doesn't fit, can't make it into a ball small enough

Take it down to your local hand car valet jobbie and bung them a couple of quid to run a carpet cleaner over it?

Hire or borrow a carpet cleaner and give it a beast with it. You can hire a rug doctor cleaner from most supermarkets for around£30.
