Tell him to do a simple eBay check

How many rx8s being broken compared to how many s2k's

Having said that I loved both of my rx7s and would have a other, 15 mpg on short runs and as low as 9 when ragging it but the sound, the looks and the attention they got were awesome! The amount of people who asked wtf it was at petrol stations was crazy!

On the later rx8 engines your good for about 85k miles if you look after it with miniral oil, but still loads of weak spots to look for like coil packs and blocked cats, not to mention the engine is so easy to flood

I've also heard that the rx8 starting issue is that the starter alternator leads and plugs are not up to the job and you need to fit uprated versions. If you start them up and switch off to quickly you will also flood the engine. One of the traders I valet for bought one at auction and it drove mint I was there. When it arrived in the lorry it wouldn't start £1000 later car was running fine, he sold it and it blew up on its way to new owners house.

 not to mention you jobby your pants at every tiny little new noise you hear coming from the engine, and "the rats nest" of vac pipes which is shockingly poor quality rubber so boost problems galore! And to get proper power you need to go single turbo or spend 2k on knightsports twins  and they fail mot's on emmitions even though the cat is literally 3 feet long
