Aftermarket Steering wheel (removing standard wheel)
Aftermarket Steering wheel (removing standard wheel)
Has anyone done this, removed the standard (5th gen) Steering wheel, for an aftermarket replacement?
I understand you'd lose function of the steering wheel controls (whatever these might be - dont have a 5th Gen yet). But is it an easy job, any feedback or guidance?
Also what controls would you generally find on the OE wheel - could these functions be replaced in this case by having a Stalk added to the steering column?

Hi mills, thankyou for the prompt feedback.
If it's only cruise control I'd be losing by removing the standard wheel, I will have no reservations about carrying out this task. I can carefully unplug the connectors from the rear of the Cruise buttons, and tuck them back into the steering column (behind the new Boss).
My overall aim is to fit a Snap-Off steering wheel kit (with aftermarket wheel).
