FAQ your ATTS

Post by Pre_luda_Chris » Thu Feb 09, 2017 9:10 pm

If an ATTS unit was to be installed into a non-ATTS Prelude, what else would be needed to get it running properly?

ecu?

wiring?

Are you talking about the actually ATTS fitting in to a non ATTS car??

Then simple answer is NO.

You will need different front suspension, ECU, wiring, ATTS gearbox, Active ABS etc etc..

Trust me it's not worth it. I removed mine and went Lsd. Never looking back.

Kind off but not really. Atts is an active torque biasing system. It uses clutches and planetary gears along with many sensors and expensive electronics to send up to 80% of the torque to the outside wheel in a corner. Mine was unreliable even before supercharging. When utter works out was great.
It weighs nearly 20-25kg.

An example of how expensive. My top oil pressure sensor failed on the Atts unit. It's £350 from Honda. Then it's a 8-10 hour job to change it.

Helical Lsd is a passive system and only used helical gears. Mine biases up to 73% torque, weights nothing and works all the time.

There are other cooler optional extra you can have such as Bonnet spoiler :) , the cool 'Prelude' rear windscreen sticker, Intersection lights 8-) or the rare S-Spec (also know Middling) spoiler   As far as I know only one person has all those extras. :o :scaredtoss:
