Jack stand placement

Post by BMCC » Thu Jul 26, 2012 9:35 pm

So I'll be putting on new front disks hopefully at the weekend. As I usually jack up the car on the front jack point (the one you use for the scissors jack), where else can I place a jack stand? I've tried jacking with a 2.5t trolley jack on the front jack point so that I can get the front wheels off the ground but I have only found 1 wheel comes of the ground when I do this in the garage!

front or rear towing eye mounts is a good strong place or the subframe mount bolts to the body or the antiroll bar d link bush mounts

you need use standard jack, and not scissor jack on front jacking point, we do that all the time in workshop and car is half meter in air

The jack I am using is a 2.0t trolley jack with lifting range 14 - 38cm (approx.) Is this not enough to jack up the front of the car? As it aint on mine :(
