As far as in aware if you have an alloy sump you don't need a gasket, you need Honda bond to create the seal instead as I found out, if you have a steel sump I think you need a gasket.
I'm not sure what your is made out of but I presume it's steel? Anyone?

Yes it was mentioned by someone in a post about H22A/2/4 and H22A5 sump differences. I asked a while back and Rich at Performance Autoworks said they weren't compatible.
So looking at your pic and assuming you have a 4th gen - it should be a steel one and you need a gasket. Can't remember if there is any locations where you add some liquid gasket like the rocker cover (tight cam areas).
It'll be in the manual, just don't have a copy to hand.

Yes, 4 little blobs, at the end of each radius either side of the sump, just like the cams.nucleustylzlude wrote:So looking at your pic and assuming you have a 4th gen - it should be a steel one and you need a gasket. Just as a point of interest, that one I ordered from Mister Auto turned up today, delivered from France. So that was 8 days delivery time.
Starting to get the odd spot of oil under the car when it's parked up now, so I guess it's time to get it sorted. In for new tyres and an alignment tomorrow morning, so will get under and make sure it's not leaking anywhere else.
