Not to sound like an old fart that trying to body lemonade on your fireworks, but I agree with Pushki and Rob.
My Granddad actually died an alcoholic, and a total shadow of his former self, so unfortunately I feel like I can comment
I know we all got smashed as youngsters and occasionally still do! but I think some may be confusing being an alcoholic with alcohol dependency.
A few cans a night doesn't sound a lot, but if you NEED it, if you go to it as a force of habit, and can't sit there WITHOUT it, that's your worry. Ironically enough my Granddad ran a pub for 20 years and was teetotal for that time, but when he left, he started drinking, and it got more and more and so on, until he just wasn't the same person at all
LLL I'm not trying to scare you, just as concern for you're well-being - I would try Pushki's suggestion and go without it for a week or two. If you find that really difficult, then yes, maybe it's worth looking into.
I think the very fact you started this thread and asked the question tells of your own concerns anyway. Hope you take all this the right way!
