When you say it "tops out at 112" what do you actually mean? Do you mean it just doesn't go any faster?

The only reason I ask is that your symptoms don't sound like a restricted ECU. When you hit the limiter in a restricted car, it's literally the same sound etc as hitting the rev limiter through the gears. What you've described doesn't sound like that's what you're experiencing.

But what actually happens when you reach 112mph? Does it sound like you've hit the Rev limiter , or does it simply not go any faster?

When I used to hit the speed limiter on mine, there used to be a loud bang. Which is just the fuel cutting out as far as I'm aware. I thought that's how those limiters worked?

No doesn't hit the rev limiter. Simply can not get any more speed from her.

If you are accelerating hard up to the limiter it would feel like you hit a brick wall when you get to it. Does your engine light come on with the ignition then go out as it should? Because it sounds more like a limp home mode to me.

Yes the engine light does come on with ignition and then goes off normally.

Whats limp home mode? And how can I fix it?
