**URGENT HELP NEEDED**

Post by LudeIOW » Wed Aug 21, 2013 10:15 pm

right so im out in the prelude today driving up a hill and i start to accelerate as my auto changes up a gear but rather than the revs dropping they clime quickly to redline then drop down to the correct reading then a few minutes later i accelerate to pull out of a junction and i nothing my revs clime to around 3k them *BAMM* and i was off it felt as if id been hit up the arse i hadn't the car just accelerated off as normal :? have had this happen several times from that point on but the second issue more regularly. :( i ever took my next door neighbour round the block as he is quite the dab had when it comes to cars and bikes and we both agreed and the car not been auto you wound swear it was the clutch. so I'm completely stuffed as my knowledge off autos is non-existent as this is my first.

any ideas??

really dont need this right now as iv just got the funds to fix most the other faults

Why couldn't it be the clutch?

Sounds like the friction plates. Common autobox fail on these.

i understand the is a clutch of natures even in a auto however after reaading up on a manual conversion you would need a clutch for said conversion i was left a blank as to the inner workings :(
