The only times Ive ever had anything like this happen in all the years of ownership, it was the main relay issue (doesn't sound like yours as thats usually when you turn off, and try to restart, but could be worth a check anyway) and the ignitor, in the dizzy cap.

A breaker yard has a dizzy for £80 that sounds quite expensive as I've seen 2nd hand ones on eBay miles away for £35

£70 is not tragic IMO, hopefully it's got the dizzy cap, rotor and coil and igniter too. I would try swapping the last two over before you get into changing the whole dizzy TBH.
Hang on, didn't you have issues with belts and stuff this week? Have you tightened any earth connections etc up properly? like on the alt, battery etc?

It could be the ignitor or coil, both of which are inside the dizzy cap and easy to replace.
Dizzy going is usually preceded by a 'death screech'!

Yeah just changed the belts mate.
