Anything with a blue tint will get you noticed and more likely to be pulled over.

Best bet will be to get some super brilliance type bulbs from Halfords or similar.

For the love of god DON'T fit HIDs into standard Prelude headlights!!

Don't use 100w ones they look good but get to hot and end up melting the wiring and connectors like did on my last prelude, get some Osram Nightbreaker ones, they are about the best you can get standard wise i think, I had them in my lude prior to fitting HID'S with my projector.

@honda-hardy, which bulbs did you put in mine? They're pretty good, and legal - just passed the mot no probs. ;)

hid's using electronic balasts and they are usually 35 watts. You can not use them with standard prelude headlights or any other standard halogen headlights. Other thing is by the law your headlights must be selfleveling and also with washers.

I've seen somewhere in internet halo bulbs test. Some of them were signed as 100W but were using less then 50W. Only one bulb was around 70W. Also they prove and it sounds real that any light bulb which is painted blue or yellow looks cool but makes less light then those clear ones.
And as far as I know 100W are only for offroad use.

Personally I think prelude headlights are sh...t. I would never go to buy any cool looking bulbs instead of those which really make light. I was using hid's in standard headlights for short time and it passed mot but I know others drivers pain so I decided to retrofit some audi projectors with d2s hid bulbs. Also I have installed headlight washers. It's still illigal as I'm unable to install selfleveling system, will see what mot tester will say

That's not actually true. The MOT manual states that "where fitted..." headlight levellers and washers must work.

There is nothing in the MOT manual stopping you from having HID bulbs in existing headlights.
