They both say they are out of stock...

If you are (he is) happy with a refurbished laptop then it would be the best choice as you are going to manage to eek out some better components for the budget.

Ah, didn't see the stock. Shame, but we have until Christmas, just didn't want to leave it to the last minute.

I may keep an eye on the pc world website and see what pops up. The 17" would be the better option as it sits in his room 95% of the time, although a white one would be a bad idea.

I normally leave it till Christmas Eve. The adrenaline rush is a killer!

It will be more of a killer Christmas day if i didn't get one! lol!

Bought the other lad a bass guitar and amp at the weekend, it is killing him know he has to wait over 2 months to see it and touch again!

Patience is a virtue that you never seemed to learn, you were born with nothing, to nothing you'll return (virtual packet of Haribo for the first to name that tune without cheating!)

I've got a similar thread running on DW and a couple of chaps (who deal with HP) have said that the 620 sort of era which had issues was a long time back. One chap said that the Envy M6 is specc'd way above it's price and the best he's seen in a long time.

3 year HP warranty can be bought for £50 or £150 with full accidental damage cover, i'm kind of thinking that another £50 will offer good piece of mind.

Swaying back to HP now....
