No - sorry, it's behind the rotor arm. Best bit is to whip the entire dizzy off and take it somewhere warm where you can work on it.

Fair play. TBH if it needs a coil, for the sake of a tenner, I'll bung a new rotor arm on as well, it's not going to hurt.

Thanks fella :)

Just mark where the bolts were, and find a rag to block the hole you'll leave or it'll dribble oil down the block. Good luck :)

Cheers, noobish question. Never had to work on a Honda before, is the coilpack removed easy (ie without taking rotor arm off)? I'm guessing not but hoping none the less.
if you haven't already done it, download the service manual. It is the Prelude bible and will tell you everything about the mechanics of the Lude.

Well, it wasn't the dizzy pack :( New one on, nada. Going to call a mobile chap and get him to sort the coil pack as I don't want to balls it up any more than it already is.

The chap in the motor factors mentioned an igniter? Apparently they are prone to failing, not sure what part he's referring to but it connects into the dizzy cap and appears to connect to the rotor arm.

The igniter is part of the distributor. There is a testing procedure for the igniter on page 23-111 of the 4th gen service manual.

Welllll, garage have diagnosed dizzy failure :( Not sure which bit specifically, but they are going to source one and let me know ASAP. One of their employees reckons he has one at home so will save me some moolah hopefully.
