I changed mine the other day as soon as it came on the news, so did it before they sent out the emails.

As with anything like this, if you get an email requesting you to change a password. Don't click on any links on the email, but browse to the site yourself and login, then use the change password under your account settings, that's the only way you'll know it's not a phishing scam.

I'm in!!! :o

I got their robot to call me with a PIN number. This sent me to the page where I could finally change my password.
I'm just glad I wasn't bidding on anything important.

I have no doubts its genuine. I had my email requesting that I change the password first thing this morning, and did wonder about a scam. Though reading through the message it had my email address and ebay user name at the bottom of the mail. Also, had it been a scam I think there would have been a link to a fake site to log in to, so that details could be saved and accessed. Then later on I couldn't sign in to ebay as it came up with the message about security breach and prompted me to reset the password.
Just in case you're still worried its been on bbc news (as pushki's link) with ebay making comments, so must be genuine. :)
