So I got back onto it with the Lude.
I needed to sort the horn and SRS light out after fitting my OMP wheel. I also wanted to get the short shifter installed.
First job was the short shifter.
Needed to remove the surround first. Easy enough just remove 4 screws on both sides. It then just pulls up and away from the dash.
Then I was confronted with a simple gear linkage. Easy stuff. Just remove the bolt to disconnect the two parts.
Then fit the adaptor. Simple two bolts and an adjustable stopper. I had to file back the stopper a bit as it was stuck. Gave it a spray of WD40 but it wouldn't budge. No drama though.
Then it was a case of putting on the cover again. Apparently some people have an issue with this but I didn't find it a problem. Back in. No issue!!

Then with the help of my friend who is much better with electrics. We attached the steering wheel. Popped off the boss. Exposing the plug we needed.
Then it was a case of figuring out which section did what.
The middle adaptor was the horn. And the two on the right where the SRS light.
To get the horn to work we had to fabricate a device to touch the plate on the back on the boss. Then it was just connecting the wires. We also had to Earth the horn behind the ring adaptor to get it to work. Simple enough.
A picture with the resistor in.
And with the horn fitted. Still need to put the OMP cover on it. To finish it off
Then headed to a car meet in the evening. Got a couple of other members down as well. Ben and Dan. Both those guys have amazing Ludes. Very clean and both different engines. Was a nice mix.
Think we peaked over 40 cars at one point, not bad for a little meet organised at Hatfield Forum.
