Hey bud,
Sorry you're having problems with it, I didn't really notice it while cleaning it up. I don't know of any machine shops off hand, but it's only a google search away. A call to Infinity Exhausts might give you an answer. His works top notch, used him a few times before and not just for car stuff - he fixed all my wifes candle vat where it had leaks. He may have tooling to skim??? Worth a try.
Is it really that bad? Can you not take to it yourself with some power tools? A belt sander would knock it down fairly quickly and flat - I know I used it to remove the 'DOHC VTEC' on a rocker cover. Granted that is ali and not steel, but shouldn't take forever. Or pop up to my buddies bodyshop with me to use his tools to get it flat???
Let me know if I can help at all.
Cheers,
Rob
