For fun, let's compare the TypeS Prelude to the 330d M Sport I've borrowed this week. The TypeS is rarer, top of the line and costs less. So you have the allure of status through rarity, the 'best' version, and value for money. However, you could choose to ignore that the 330 is newer, more economical yet quicker, has more toys, and is also safer (all consistent comparisons - age, efficiency, performance, user interaction, safety). By that measure the 330 is the better car.
Ah but the Type S version is top of the line and I'm not driving an M3.
