What about the bigger brakes, and polybushed suspension you fitted to yours?nitin_s1 wrote:I think the 5G S-Spec and Type-S don’t need any changes as they are perfect.
Congratulations to vtecmec for winning May/June's Lude Of The Month, with his DIY Turbo BB1 build.

This is so true palDrax wrote:if i were to redesign the 4g from it's period, i think the only change i'd do is to move the bloody interior door pull handles to somewhere they wont give me pain for leaning my arm on![]()

Often thought of how i could blank it off and put a nice padded bit there, and then attach a rope door pull etc

But you would do that to even the newest car you get, just like modding any car.. eg better brake pads, new exhaust etcConfused wrote:What about the bigger brakes, and polybushed suspension you fitted to yours?nitin_s1 wrote:I think the 5G S-Spec and Type-S don’t need any changes as they are perfect.

I did love the ATTS when it was working, was the best thing in the Prelude imo..norks27 wrote:LSD instead of ATTS and you're right?nitin_s1 wrote:I think the 5G S-Spec and Type-S don’t need any changes as they are perfect.
But the only down side was that it would get unreliable in the future and less performance tuning options.

I am now driving the S-Spec with LSD and although I know it's more reliable and less weighty but I would love a bit of aid

For a 5G:
Honda really missed the boat on not having RWD like all the other big Japanese OEMs. Imagine all the preludes and ITR's drifting alongside the S13's
Engine wise a bit more power would've been nice but not a requirement.
Mechanical 4WS from the 3G.
3/4G style front end on 5G.
Nicer seats (cosmetically).
For a 3G:
RWD.
Less prone to rust

I'd agree with those who'd prefer a Prelude with RWD. In a way, the log bonnet and short boot already mimics the proportions of some muscle cars, so why not beef up the arches and put a small block V8 in it?
As for a Type R version, I say NO. With the exception of the NSX, the type R designation was principally for mere mortals with a bit more pep. Even the Integra can trace its ancestry via the DB6/7/9 to the DB1 and back to Quints and Concertos.
I see the Prelude as a tourer or GT, rather than a saloon that needs pepping up. It was always outside of Honda's mainstream and used for innovations such as the moon roof and 4WS.
This leads me to suggest that the next Prelude should have:
- No finicky lumps on it like the new CTR
- 2+2 seating
- Hybrid 4WD
- 4WS
