Yes, its 31, the oil filter housing gasket. Its an easy job.

Wurlycorner did a how to somewhere on here........

As the guys have said above this will be the oil cooler seal. No 19 is the oil cooler itself.

Ah right... Sorry I misunderstood that you guys were referring to the oil filter (was a bit confused about what was meant by oil cooler). It's clearer now, and yeah it looks like the issue could be the oil cooler. It's just strange how it's gotten so much worse over the last 3 weeks - though over that time, the car was with JHW autos in Banbury SUPPOSEDLY getting some paintwork done (for the second time, as the first time he did a bum droppings job) and I don;t know what they may have done with the car in that time - I DO know they drove it around as a runaround (longest trip from from Banbury to Bicester to drop off something for another customer), as I have dashcam footage of it

Genuine Honda part ordered - £3.75 (at that price decided to get 2 of them

. Next day delivery to dealer, so I'll collect it tomorrow

Tonight I'll go and drain oil and remove oil filter, oil cooler and current o-ring and tomorrow night should have it fitted with a full oil change (not doing filter, as that was done not too long ago). Then it's a good wipe under the engine, and drive her around a little on Friday to see if anything else is leaking. Hopefully she'll then be ready for the drive down to the SCC Meet at D-Day Museum on Friday evening.

The soft rubber cover over the oil pressure switch on my car is useless, as it's torn and not really providing any protection. Is this an issue and do I need to try and get a replacement ? Could I just wrap it in insulation tape instead ?

You'll be ok without that little rubber cover. A bit of tape will do just fine.

bah humbug - i think i have this aswell. I replaced the oil filter and thought id fixed the problem but got another waft of it this morning.

have you got the part number?

Looking at the manual, the center 'bolt' that holds the cooler/exchanger to the block is 74nm / 54lbft

Annoyingly that torque setting wasnt in the b16 manual so just looked it up to satisfy my curiosity. seem to recall it was pretty stiff to undo so make sure you have good leverage.

I used the part number supplied by vanzep - 91316-PE7-730. Collecting the tomorrow.

I removed the center bolt you refer to and can confirm it is pretty tight. If you can get the car up high enough, you may want to use a breaker bar to give you a bit more leverage, so you can apply steady pressure without straining yourself. I had to use brute force, as couldn't get my breaker bar under the car. Was a little confused at first, as the bolt comes out of the cooler, but the cooler itself simply pops off

My O-ring was VERY brittle and in 2 separate pieces, so no wonder it was leaking so badly.

New one ordered from htune as none on eBay in the UK..

Yeah I was lucky the last time I removed one it was on an engine stand. Not looking forward to doing it in situ!

I got mine from Johnson's Honda in Oxford (got delivered to them next day and I collected it). All fitted now and no more dripping oil. woohoo !!

FFS - i went to honda.co.uk to search for my closest honda dealer and it said newbury (im in didcot, but work in oxford).

Ah well - itll turn up and ill fit it at some point (although must finish fixing the wifes car first, she hates driving the lude!).
