^^^just means you take the phrase ''you cant polish a turd'' to heart. ;)

imo collinite gives a very luster like finish, full of depth. FK1000p gives a very hard shine, more glass like. The 915 on red was right, the FK1000p on white is better.

As shiny says polishing by hand is hard work. I would even go so far to say pointless unless your using rubbing compound. Get to B&Q and grab yourself a cheap rotary sander and the three Meg's sponges off ebay and your set up to get results to be proud of for just a few quid.
All respect to these guys who spend hundreds on one item for detail work but I would prefer to spend it on fuel.

Hand application of wax/sealant is maybe a little more labour intensive but much faster. you will need to buff it off once its cured. I use my DA and the megs finishing sponge to take it off with. leaves a stunning shine.
6th gen Prelude please Mr Honda. RWD 2.4 turbo lude.

I sometimes enjoy it, but with four cars to do...

Random orbital is your friend.

I cut back and polish fresh paintwork daily. In a perfect world i would polish the repair a few days later when the lacquer has hardened a bit more so it comes up like glass.

IMO wait 3 months to put a wax sealent on but 1 months is ok. This will make sure all solvents have evapourated. Putting a wax on means the solvents wont escape and will blister the paint.

No clearcoat? Whats the paint sealed with? In that case do as you wish.

Chill Ratty, it left the factory without a clearcoat, so what's the difference now? :?:

Thanks for all the info, people! I'm probably going to try that fk1000p stuff (when I get the car back!) :D

...oh and do you remember those number plates I ordered last monday from Simplyplates.com ..well, they still aren't here and I'm getting fobbed off by the sales guy via email now. They were resonably priced, but their after sales care is shocking. Don't bother with them.

If you dont have a clear coat then it will be a 2k direct gloss paint finish. wait 30-60 days before any non breathable wax or sealant is applied. Breathable waxes can be used after a few days and will help protect the paint finish from bird crap etc etc.
