I am in dispute with the bodyshop
When the car was painted the bodyshop took off the widscreen surround. They put it back bonded at the bottom and leaving it at least 1/2" away from the roof and drivers pillar(so you can see the lugs?) at the top. He is now saying there is nothing he can do about it as he has spoken to a window fitter and it needs the screen to come out and a new surround fitted. Is this correct or bullshit? Of course he does not want to pay for that!

Paul - I'd suggest speaking to a window fitter yourself. Is there a local place you can go, and just ask for some advice?

If it needs a window fitter to correct their error, then that is what they will have to pay for.
They should have ensured the windscreen seal was in the correct position before they bonded it.
Do you have Legal Expenses cover under your car or house insurance which covers consumer disputes? May be worth looking into if the body shop won't pay ball.

This is probably correct, the top of the screen has two half moon clips that bond under the screen and help the trim clip into place and seat correctly. Though of course he should cover this cost.paul bristol uk wrote:He is now saying there is nothing he can do about it as he has spoken to a window fitter and it needs the screen to come out and a new surround fitted.
