My dad bought some huge expensive Sony television from Curry's last December. It died after 3 months. Curry's would only offer him a repair with a 12 week turn-around and no loan unit! The store manager was adamant that they would not swap it for another one, or refund him. HE phoned me, very angry, because I told him to take it back and get a refund. I told him to go back in and say "Trading Standards and The Sale of Goods Act", which he did. He left the store with a full cash refund and an apology. Some companies really will try their luck if they think the customer isn't as well informed as he possibly should be.

I'm currently going through the courts to get my money back on a faulty car, so I've done a lot of reading recently into the sale of goods act and the supply of services act.

Also, if you paid for any of the product on credit, then the Consumer Credit Act applies and the credit company are just as liable as the seller. ;)

I've had a very kind email from the Customer Service Manager of the store this morning, in short offering to arrange for collection of the catches and upon their arrival issuing me a full refund, and also even sending me out a small gift in exchange for the inconvenience :)

He has again reiterated that this in the only time of over 100 that they've heard of having failed, so I'm hoping you'll be alright Phil :?

If not, I'll update this with the amendments required to then fit Genuine Aerocatches afterwards ;)
