The only thing i will say is i want the person i go to to have experience of doing already what i ask people have to be given a chance or we will only ever have one decent place to go.
I was all set to call and get some work done at PAW but there were a couple of things that go against them Distance is one and the other is i think 3 engines built by Paw have gone bang with the same component being blamed and while they have sorted these out to the satisfaction of the customers afaik i wont travel all that way for the same sort of thing to happen leaving me high and dry 300 mile away.

I go to a garage that has been recommended by other Honda owners, but it's not just the garage for me, it's the mechanic who carries out the work. I use a guy who works at varying locations and follow him around, been using him since I bought my first Lude back in 2001...and he drives japs himself. Garages only as good as the staff who work there. Good luck with yours.

You guys all make great, valid points.

As I said, trust has to be gained and by the sound of it PAW has had some engine issues...for those people involved that could be a big loss in trust, which the garage will have to restore their faith in the company.

I've only ever heard good things about them :-)

like i said i have heard great things everyone seems to be really happy with them and they are obviously total experts in what they do but if something goes wrong the distance is too great a negative for me

Distance can always be a pain, especially if you want big work doing and have to leave your car for a few days, along with the mate that's got to follow you to the garage, take you home and then bring you back when the work is done.

That cost in itself can make it not worth it...just depends how much you love your Honda :-D

PAW lent me their runabout van when they had my car for a few days last time. It's not their official courtesy car, but it goes to show they're happy to help you out if they can. A courtesy car is a big plus.

it's not often a performance garage lends you a runabout...like you say, definitely a big plus point :-)
