It will depend how willing a person is to accept they were driving badly as to how much value it will offer in the long run. imho..

Very few people are actually aware on the road. I would happily see an annual checkup on ability if it were feasible.

The amount of people I see drifting over the white line or more often towards the kerb on my 6 mile journey to and from work is ridiculous! The amount of cars on that same journey that brake on nearly every corner and at the sight of every on-coming car suggests that there are definitely too many under-confident drivers on the road that really shouldn't be. These are the people that hesitate at a roundabout when they should have gone and then pull out in front of a car cutting them up

Mrs. Sailor went on one of these away-days a while back. She said it was generally a bit boring, but was surprised by how many of her classmates failed to answer some of the simplest questions correctly. Perhaps they are a good idea after all?

I think many people need to be taught how wide their car is, and that providing you're on your side of the road then things coming towards you on their side aren't going to hit you and you don't need to slam on the brakes.

Yes, but I've forgotten. I think it was basic Highway Code stuff, road signs and the like.
