Don't use Parcel Monkey! (City Link particularly)

Banter goes here, and doesn't have to be Lude related

Shocking!! My experiences of Parcel Monkey have all been ok, most recently, Pedro sent me a set of shocks and springs, they were collected on 06/08/12 @ 1pm and were delivered to me in Cornwall by 5pm on the 7th.. and no extra was paid for next day delivery. Guess I was lucky too.

I always use Parcel2go.com I was told to try Parcel Monkey, but they've not been cheaper yet. I always find Yodel (Used to be DHL) or Hermes or Home Delivery Network to be the cheapest so use one of those. I've never had a problem with any of them and I think they've all surprised me at some point...

... Once I Yodel delivered something to me on a 24 hour service even though I'd paid for a 48 hour. The driver simply said they weren't that busy, so try and clear as much as they can when they have it.

... And I think they've all lived up to collection the next day when I've arranged it through Parcel2go after 9pm the night before! One of them it was even after 11pm, so they're definately just picking up the orders that morning and collecting straight away.

Never had any bad reports of collection or delivery when I've arranged through parcel2go.

I just know never to use CityLink due to people using them to send things to me. 3 seriously bad incidents I've had with them

Sorry to hear about your experience Rob.

I must say, that although I've not used any of these "price comparison" sites for delivery, I've had many deliveries to me from internet shopping by City Link and I've never had a problem with the condition or timing of the delivery.

It does seem though that your grievance here is with ParcelMonkey and not City Link. At least with CL you got through to a person, spoke to them and got an answer, it's PMs responses and customer service that are shocking. CL just get the instruction from PM on what to collect, where, when and when/where to deliver it.

I imagine CityLink has a contract with said internet shops (most do) so it's in their own interest to stick to that contract. It's when it comes to private sales and individuals they couldn't give a jobby.

... Although having said that I have recommended an ebay shop stop using CityLink before due to their crap service and they informed me that I wasn't the first person to complain about it, and that I would now be the last ;-)

Talk about rattle my cage some more Adam! :troll:

Cheers guys. Sounds like I'm not alone, I do recall someone moaning about them in the past, must've been you Nath, but the couple of times I've used them earlier on they appeared ok, but now they are down to a 50/50 of getting a service right I'm not impressed.

I too have used Parcel 2 Go in the past a couple of times, one with DHL & the other with Yodel, both fine. Since the experience I have found a number of review sites now which rate Parcel Monkey and City Link at the bottom of the list. Parcel2Go appear to be holding up well near the top rankings. So I re-arranged the delivery with them using Yodel. It's a joke I am now £15 down for a week though. Imagine how mad I'll be if the money doesn't appear after that!

:guns: :fatality:

I also gave Parcel 2 Go's T&C's a good read and they do not state the same as Parcel Monkey - I guess if companies can 'deliver the goods' they don't need crappy terms to hide behind.

Cheers,

Rob

Make sure you chase them. You need to find out why it takes 7 days. If it takes 7 days for the process to clear (Which is the only reasonable excuse) then you need to make sure they've done it today/yesterday. But from my experience they forget a lot! Took over 3 months for some wind deflectors to arrive in my possession because of their incompetence! I spoke to 4 different staff and to their superviser twice. The superviser told me that everything I had been told by the 4 members of his staff was wrong and that they shouldn't have told me that/got my hopes up. They find it physically impossible to override their computer system and the system/policies are as anal as they come.

Yay! More fun to come then.

Think I'll find five minutes this week when it's quiet in work and get writing a sh!tty letter to the managing director then. Depending if that is his real address!

What an awful attitude from a company that should be trying to provide a service good enough to retain customers, and maybe even attract more! I thought I had used some incompetent carriers, but nothing to compare to this.
