Sounds pretty minor man, good job. You'll have it back in no time.

Doesnt sound too bad at all Pushki and i am sure there there will be alot more people failing mot due to the new checks - if you think rubber perishes over time and 4th gens are at least 15 years old now - so any rubber bushing or dust cover/boot is going to get prodded and poked by mot tester and any sign of age related wear is going to mean a fail. Thats why i renewed practically every rubber component underneath the car.

I don't have the paperwork because it's booked in to have the work done and a re-test.
It failed on something to do with a dust cover on the suspension ball joint thingy. One of the new checks! :x

No mention of the emissions, so I guess it passed on that. :P

I'm actually quite shocked. I haven't had an MOT failure for many years.
Bu dum cha!

I don't know what it is. It's only going to cost me £50 for parts & labour so it must be something quite insignificant. :?

I reckon lower ball joint boot was goosed, and you're getting a new balljoint.

Well I'm glad they spotted that, with such an integral item being damage it's a wonder you didn't crash and burn, Pushki! I mean, all of ours have had them fitted for years, so it's definitely very, very important. You best get along and pay yet more money to get that very important item fixed asap.
