No worries matey I know they're the same but Alsation is less typing/what we've always called them in my family
Dogs are great for security

My girlfriend was walking one of our labs by herself a year or so ago now, she was out on the tracks up behind our old house whilst it was dark and there was a chap walking down the opposite way to her. He was on the other side of the road/track, but as he got closer he moved on to the same side as Laura so he was walking directly at her. Not specifically a threat but odd all the same, the dog twigged it and despite being a soppy lump all his life he stood his ground whilst growling between Laura and the stranger - needless to say the bloke went back to the other side

Our dog has not got a problem with strangers (he even tries to get in other people's cars and houses whilst we're out

), so presumably he had some comprehension that Laura was vulnerable and that the man might have been trouble under the circumstance. It does make me glad to have the dogs around knowing they look out for us
