£40! Can't complain at that.
You just need to get rid of the exhaust wrap now ;)

 I know! Was thinking of just getting rid but the mani is pretty rusty and the guy in the garage said it's doing a good job so don't know what to do :(

Perhaps getting it sand blasted and high temp powder/ceramic coated

but yeah, £40 :) gotta love the valleys some days. Altho, I may hold judgement until the dyno re-run on Friday :scaredtoss:

i think it was about £300 for the mani to get done. but that may have been marked up by the distributor. there is a place in cardiff that resell the service 8-)

Thanks for reminding me! It needs the exhaust mount on the back of the block adapting as it doesn't fit at the moment. Sorting that out should stop it :)

Alex you'll probably find you're missing the small adapter plate that goes between the back of the block and the downpipe bracket. I was missing mine at the time I had my Mugen manifold, but I managed to pick one up from Mr Wizze. I never got around to fitting it, but I could see it was going to bridge the gap. They obviously get unbolted when the OEM downpipe is removed and then never put back.

£40 seems to be the going rate for that kind of work at the minute I think. A collegue of mine had his turbo manifold rewelded when it quite literally broke loose on his S-Line A3 :? Cost him £40 to fix!

Ceramic coating is expensive, but not £300 expensive. I need to do a bit of shopping around, but the impression I've got is around the £150 mark depending on the manifold. Have you considered simply getting it polished up?... Or is it too pitted?
