still look around buddy, different postcodes, occupation, & all other details to other people you need to take into account.skinny wrote:£600, 0 NCB as it's my (first) 2nd car. however that's fully comp and with all mods declared (engine work, exhaust, suspension, wheels), which going by other quotes doesn't seem too bad
you cant compare quotes, unless its for yourself

Yeah, it's pretty incomparable between people as there's too many variables.
But to help you all feel better, I'm 21, never had an accident, been driving large cars since I was 17, no points, live in a quiet area... My Prelude is the second car, so no NCB to use on it - £2,100 a year for me and my girlfriend to drive it
I'd rip an insurer's arm off to pay less than a grand a year
Anyone know where I can get a limited mileage policy? I hardly drive my lude anymore anyway

Lancaster insurance bud. I'm with them for both my cars. Sadly they don't actually do a multi-car policy, but amazingly coincidentally they were the cheapest for both my cars individually anyway (Even more so than anyone that does do multi-car!).
The Aerodeck is on limited mileage and the Prelude has a fix payout of £2500 and is as standard, bar the wheels, exhaust and lip kit (all declared)
They were great for me service-wise and you can really personalise your cover
EDIT: Having said all that, something is now telling me you have to be over 25
Definitely worth a check though

Cheers mate, I'll give them a look tonight as I'm trying to reshuffle all my insurance now we've moved house. I originally insured my Prelude for the 15K a year I do but tbh with 55K on the clock I'd rather make my Golf take the brunt of commuting. Would be surprised if I even did 3K in the lude whilst using the Golf as my daily driver so seems silly paying so much.NafemanNathan wrote:Lancaster insurance bud. I'm with them for both my cars. Yeah it's not good how much it is. Although without using any NCB I get quoted about £1600 for old Clios, Golfs etc. Hence my mentality has always been 'drokk it, if I'm paying over the odds I might as well drive a car I like'Merlin wrote:drokk that!jjmartin349571 wrote:£2,100I dont care how much I love the Lude, I'd rather drive something else than hand over that. Although you are 10 years younger than I am

On the plus side, with only 1 years NCB in my Mk2 Golf I pay about £590 a year, which considering my age, I can live with

I remember you said you used to deal with them Shiny. The lude definitely isn't on limited insurance though. You have reminded me though that as the Aerodeck is on limited mileage it doesn't earn any NCB. Doesn't bother me though as like I said, they were a lot cheaper than the next best.Shiny wrote:Lancaster is classic car insurance, or they used to be. So will be limited mileage, over 25 etc
I could write business with them until about 4 or 5 years ago, but we cancelled the agency as we do very little car insurance.

I've always wondered, is there any way to cheaply insure all the cars in one household under a bespoke policy through someone? I'm not talking like admiral multicar, but more like a policy where someone can say yep, you have 3/4 cars, there's 2 of you in the household, you can only drive 2 cars at a time between you, we'll insure them all together but assume at least 2 are always off the road. I hope that makes sense

I hate insurance

Surely usung your NCB on the Lude instead of the Golf would work out cheaper?jjmartin349571 wrote:Yeah it's not good how much it is.
