Suggestions for wheel nuts...

Post by macky_6 » Wed Feb 29, 2012 8:13 pm

Hey all,

I am in the process of refurbing two sets of wheels and they are gonna look a bit shiny next to my decaying wheel nuts.

I am looking for a bit of inspiration from you lot, so feel free to suggest any that you may have seen/use or generally would recommend, preferably with pics or links :D

Price isn't really a factor but would rather they were black/lightweight or both

Thank you please

Don't get cheap Ebay ones, they tend to strip the threads very easily

i got a full set of long fit hollow D1 in black.

not put them on as im waiting for the wheels to come back but they look like this

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/D1-SPEC-RACIN ... 2eb8b8cae7

i would imagine you would want to take your time as a threaded wheel nut is a muffin. I had a slight imperfecton on one so they sent me two. glad of that...

ill just have a looksee if it was them i bought them from.

Id go for Rays Engineering lug nut set if money was no object
Im still using the oem chrome nuts that came with the car 12 years ago
Mind u i saw a teg the other day with long thin wheel nuts on it that stuck out a couple of inches from the wheel and i thought if he scrapes a kerb or something then hes in real trouble

Basically "Aluminium" wheel nuts aren't strong enough, which most Ebay, Rays etc are

I got a set of chromed internal drive nuts with 4 locking nuts from BK racing for £50

http://www.driftworks.com/shop/car-part ... wheel-nuts at least it's a good company and if they were crap they wouldn't sell them and if they were it would be plastered all over there forum

Iv got a set of the ones Rota supply. They are just chrome nuts. They are strong enough BUT iv not even used the car and they are loosing there shine. On the other hand my Mcgard locking nuts look as good as the day i opened the brand new pack.

I've got a set of Ultralite internal drive ones on my daily which are super light.

I've got a set of Kei Tuner nuts on my Aerodeck, that used to be on my project lude before she was parked up, but I wouldn't recommend those as the majority have corroded in a few areas  Thought I'd mention those as being Kei you'd think they'd be quite good and the prices are respectable too.
