Manga / Anime anyone?

Post by Kawa » Thu Apr 19, 2012 10:18 pm

Big in the 80's and early 90's - not sure if it still has a following anymore?

Anyway - Japanese animated series / films - the main ones I can remember were Robotech (my fav), Loki the superman, Captain Harlock.

Did anyone else have a wasted childhood?

I used to love Dragon Ball, with the fights that would go on for like 6 episodes.

Not just a childhood - I prefer films to series as I'm easily bored but I've got appleseed, cowboy bebop, read or die, blood the last vampire (or something), tekkonkinreet, paprika, as well as some normal stuff like akira and studio ghibli films :)

I never realised it as a kid, but most of the cartoons I always used to be watching were of Anime origins. I love a good Anime film now too and got a few in my collection...

1. Afro Samurai
2. Afro Samurai Ressurection (Not as good as the first)
3. Casshan (The Series) Also got the live-action film as well (Casshern), which if you haven't seen it and you're an Anime fan YOU MUST WATCH THIS! Truly the best ever effort and live action Anime 8)
4. Grave of the Fireflies (Studio Ghibli) Me and a best mate have most of the Studio Ghibli's between us.
5. Laputa Castle in the Sky (Studio Ghibli)
6. Samurai Champloo
7. freaking insane Away (Studio Ghibli)

Also have to love the classis Akira.
