AEM V1 INDUCTION KIT - CLEANING
Hello Gents
What is the best solution to use to clean a dryflow AEM filter.
This might be a daft question, but can K&N products be used to clean an AEM filter.
K&N seem better priced and all the AEM stuff needs to be brought in from the states.
But K&N have a few different cleaning solutions so I am not sure which one is the best one to use.

You can clean it with any degreasser you have. Soak it with a lot of it and after that clean with a lot of wather. Rest it to dry and put thin film of WD40. Rest it for some houres and you are ready to go... no need of KN cleaning kit. Theses are the main detergents, KN greasser is red... thats is it

Cheers gents... so its a basic degreaser in essence that comes in a bottle and is charged at silly prices?

I am having a "thick day" so after using the K&N solution, I should apply wd40 or degreaser to the filter to trap the dust?

I have only just seen the difference between the AEM and K&N, AEM is dry filter apparently.Free Ranj Egg wrote:I am having a "thick day" so after using the K&N solution, I should apply wd40 or degreaser to the filter to trap the dust?
With a K&N you "degrease" the filter, wash it, dry it and then apply the oil.
AEM dry filters are slightly different Here is the AEM procedure https://www.aemintakes.com/air_filter_c ... ctions.htm

So the AEM does not need to be reoiled.
Cool I have seen a video on you tube where a guy is cleaning an AEM filter with the normal K&N spray. I will try and clean my filter before I consider investing in another one.
I assume that any type of cleaning fluid be it K&N or AEM can be used to clean the filter. But once its done let it dry and do not re grease or re oil it. Correct?
