Home Security Help

Post by Dino » Tue Jul 17, 2012 1:13 pm

Bit of a development since the National meet.
Basically we have got a paranoid neighbor who is harassing us.
She had been hitting windows, doors, shouting obsenities in the street and basically threatening us.
Me and my wife dont even know her or her friends.
Few months back id jad enough and popped to the cop shop.
We didnt take it any further but asked them to have a chat with her.
Things went quiet, but being a little paranoid i fitted a garage and a shed alarm and hd net curtains fitted to all the windows.

Sat night when at the lude meet she came over again bashing the door and running off.
My wife saw her legging it round the side of the house and jumping her fence from our property.
The wife told me sunday, so back to the cop shop we went.
Havent got a clue what this womans problem is.
Again, police took statement and paid her a visit.
She completely denied everything.
Spoke to police afterwards and thinks she is bordering on paranoia.
Due to who she is, and the people she frequents, the officer mentioned that i should have my general security in place.
Not good, and she is messing with my MOJO.
I have to do a box swap over weekend and afraid to leave car overnight on drive.

So basically i have a few hundred quid spare to create deterrants which i really shouldnt have to do.
I was wondering what people could recommend for the following items.

1) Thorn bush to stop her jumping fence. SORTED.
2) Garage brace/Lock
3) Rear Garden Motion sensor sensor light
4) Additional Shed Security (already alarmed and door lock)
5) Dead Locks for rear patio doors (currently all double glazed house)

Like i said, massively fooked off i have to waste my money due to a petty paranoid idiot!!

If you don't want to go down this route, keep a digital camera within reach to catch her in the act = evidence!!

in all seriousness its horrible to have a situation like this. have you confronted her yourself and asked what her problem is? maybe she just wants to get jiggy with mr biggy?! police are usually pretty jobby when it comes to things like this until she actually harms you/your mrs or damages your property (if you can prove she is responsible!)

really feel for you mate, really crappy place to be :(

Do you think it would be worth walking around next time she knocks and runs and take a voice recorder with you hidden discretly and ask what she wanted (in a calm unsuspecting voice)? If you can catch her on video then great and even try showing that to her as well if she denys it was her. Just be careful she doesn't try to half-inch it or knock it out your hands when you show it to her and there's no denying it's her.

Alternatively... Are you sure it's not you that's paranoid? ;-)

Mate. Not paranoid. My missus had a slanging match with her. So know its her and had neighbors witness this.

I wont go and see her as if i bother her, she has a case for an harrassement order against me/us.
Hence letting police try sort it and getting it all on record.
As much as i want to take matters in to my own hands, im playing this by the book.

Pushki, that camera, looks to be a good option.

Thanks so far guys.

What others have said eBay pc cameras can be had for cheap security lights anti vandal paint on fences so I'f she does hop the fence she won't be able to wash the paint off for a week if she has a favourite area she jumps over some discrete 2 inch nails in a camo board where she would land nasty but she won't do it again razor wire is also good and can be hooked up to low voltage to give her a little shock
