Post by lewd lude lover » Fri Jul 20, 2012 3:56 pm

so i have had to fit two new tyres. both on the front.

i keep getting a code. i cant get the car to go into the reset proceedure. it just keeps flashing the codes at me.

i am using the proceedure in the bible that says you have to turn the wheel 45 degrees etc.

i am using the connector we use to get the codes out. i cant see another one :x

any useful replies will be much appreciated :? because im about to take a tyre iron to the fecker.

Have you tried disconneting the battery so that all codes are cleared, then try the reset?

yes merlin i have taken the fuse out for 20 seconds. the codes clear and then after a short time come back.

i already have 7 codes stored from the tyre going so cant read this new one. i want to wipe all the codes and start again but i cant seem to get the car to do anything but flash the codes at me. most frustrating.

Removing the fuse is a known way on the 4G. I thought with the 5th it has to be battery disconnected? If removing the fuse didnt clear the codes, it hasnt worked, all stored codes should be cleared.

Edit - Sorry your 2nd paragraph threw me, you already siad the codes were cleared.

What about phyiscally pulling the plug from the ECU (once you've disconnected the battery also)?

Not sure why it would be remembering codes, but due to it being time related (ie waiting 20-30 seconds before it clears) how about simply waiting 10 minutes?
