Nice weekend.....worked on car

Post by Rocky » Sun Oct 07, 2012 8:59 pm

Hi guys,

Since we had nice weather this weekend I decided to finally fix my squeaky brakes (any one at the national meet may have heard them). Stripped the down and applied copper grease on the back of the pads and the slides and now I have a squeak free car :D

I know this isn't the most technical achievement ever but for me it is

Has anyone else made use of a weekend sans rain this week?

What was your rattle? I have a sort of jingling rattle coming from mine at low RPM as the engine is put under load, I really need to sort it but not sure where to start :?

yeah mine was at 2000rpm - i was thinking the worst (as always) as had just done valve clearances after doing manual tensioner conversion and timing belts - turns out it was a loose bolt holding one of the mounting lugs from the mani/downpipe to the block - got it just in time :)

I'm wondering if mine might be something similar... In my head the only thing I can imagine that would make the noise I'm hearing is a washer shaking around on a loose bolt. No idea if that's what it is mind, it's just that's the mental image the noise gives me  I might have to go around the bay looking for loose bolts soon
