PVC pipe

Post by bb1boy » Mon Jun 10, 2013 4:00 pm

Hi guys, I'm building a drift trike and I need some 10" diameter PVC/PE pipe to sleeve my go kart wheels so they slip and slide on the road ..trouble is I can't find any anywhere! Someone is listing a pair (2x6" lengths of 10" pipe) on eBay for £20, but I think that's too expensive, especially for my budget drift trike! I have had a kids 20" wheel mountain bike, some steel tubing and a pair of go kart wheels donated so so far its all working out nicely, but this pipe is proving to be a headache.

Does anyone have any ideas where I might find such a thing? I've been looking for vent pipes, duct pipes all kinds of pipes but I'm struggling to find anything suitable.

Are they solid rubber tyres? How about stapling the crap out of them?

Could you not get some mild steel sheet (2mm thick or so) and get someone to fabricate some tubes for you?

^^ that'd probably cost more than £27 for some pre cut bits of pipe. I'm sure it's just some underground electrical or water pipe. I need to find a builder/building site..

Actually, Tesco sell 10" cake tins hahaha

Nah, if I got a rectangular profile laser cut to suit it'd only cost a couple quid! And if your mate charges you more than £25 to roll and weld them then you've asked the wrong mate! (This is all assuming you have a mate that works in the fabbing industry ;-) ).
