Laser eye surgery

Post by FrontBackSide2Side » Tue Jun 18, 2013 11:03 am

I'm thinking of having laser eye surgery and have my first consultation this afternoon. I was wondering if anyone on here has had it done and could give me any info regarding recovery times or anything else you think I should know? The Optimax brochure says it takes upto a week to heal but I've heard someone else say it took them 3 months :-?

be careful with the long term effects. One of the girls I work with had it done (several years ago) and now if she get high blood pressure the vessels in her eye pop and she gets full on red eye

That doesn't sound too good mate. Is she happy with it other than that?

My main concern, and I'm not trying to put you off, is that this kind of surgery was only really "perfected" in the late 90's, so in my eyes (no pun intended), that wasn't long enough ago to know that there are definitely not going to be any adverse effects later on in life.

Try it on one eye, so if something happens you still have one more eye left.. I don't mean that in a offensive way..

I was trying to work out how that could possibly be taken offensively, but then thought, knowing just how JDM you are Nitin, you must have been taking about his Jap-Eye right?

I meant as in if something happens and he looses his eye sight in one eye, I thought he would take offence to that..

Amanda had her eyes done 7 years ago and has had no problems, she would do it again . Healed within hours with no issues, might need reading glasses now though ..but thats age related.
Its a work in progress

I think the most telling thing for me is the lack of opticians who seem to have had it done ...

On the other hand ...
