What car to buy the mrs

Post by W1ggz » Thu Sep 06, 2012 7:50 am

Right my fiance reckons we dont need 3 cars which is a fair point i suppose atm on our drive we have a 1958 beetle that we had for a year and never really driven so it shall be moving off to a new home as it seems unfair to have it sat wasting away on our drive,

we also have a mk3 golf Gti which is her daily driver

now we already have a 2 year old girl and a boy due in december she thinks we only need the 1 car and wants to just drive mine all the time, i think not.
So i think ill have to get ready for another car as a heavily pregnant woman gettin in n out of a lude and putting kids in the back is only going to lead to her telling me to sell my car, which will just cause i huge argument that i will win lol.
Im thinking Accord type R would be a good choice for the family car are there any major issues to look out for, it will be a few months till this happens tho

One man, presumably at work during the week (?) and then a mother with two small kids.... Definitely reason to have at least two cars in the family ;-) (Unless you maybe walk/cycle/bus/train to work?).

ATR is definitely a good idea as a family car... It's not even a compromise on a lude :D ... Apart from the looks maybe.

I'd assume look for all the same key factors as you would with a Prelude. Though I imagine they're less prone to rusty arches for some reason.

I'm sure Shiny will spark up sometime soon, he'll tell you ;-)

Love the Beetle by the way 8) Though it looks stranded

+1 on the Volvo. I'm missing having mine about already :(

Whatever you get, get leather seats!! My younger brothers puked all over every car my parents ever had

The ATR is a good reliable car, the pre-facelift model is prone to 5th gear grinding like the lude though. I've not owned one but I'm sure shiny can tell you what it's like living with one. I've got a 6th Gen Accord hatchback, the only thing I'd say is the boot might not be big enough for 2 prams.
