@phil: credits to you for getting this on the forum finally.

@merc: sure did. we must have been doing 45 50 when we hit. a fence post took the drivers wheel out soon as we left the road so there was no braking or sterring. :?

Re: Lewd's Lude The Red one

Post by lewd lude lover » Mon May 21, 2012 11:30 pm

So after a little to and fro with the insurance I had the decision to make.

What car to buy with this cash?
I went through every car maker and every model. The only things that took my fancy were S14a or liners. Neither of which are as understated as the lude so another lude it was

This one!

1996 Type S

It came with a gammy front bumper:

so that got replaced with a wingswest bigmouth

Image

there was something missing though. The car was not quite there...

I woke one morning to find this waiting for me.....

so its into the paint shop
I was never happy about the shade of the bonnet so that had to go and a bit of fresh lacquer here and there.......

Image

Skip on a few months and i find a Carbon bonnet  with new polybush and tein suspension and a bit of this...

Image

and a bit of that...

the car finally looked like this..

And it sounded like this!

Thats when a Dominos pizza guy drove into the back of it and wrote it off

It ended up being canibalised for parts and returning to stock.
Last I saw it it was on its way north.

A bloody good car but I was never really happy with it.... cant say why, just not right for me...

Re: Lewd's Lude. The White one. Stock from Rich.

Just as the red Lude got bashed Shadowcat sold his type S to rich as it had engine troubles.
Rich took care of the head issues and gave the car a good checkover and put it up for sale.

It looked like this 8-)

Needless to say I had plans

So the car was in pretty good condition mechanically but it needed a little TLC and dirt busting.

I started out with a 'plastics off' claybar and scrub.

DIRTY :o

This was the claybar afterward...

I had to deal with a little of this...

But it all came back pretty well 8-)

Right... I'm beginning to see where you're getting your reputation for writing off Type-S's ;-)

So now came the time to Strip the red one of all the tasty bits and swap them over for all the stock condition parts.

@nathan: I only ever killed the black one. The red one was limping a bit as it drove away but it drove under its own power
