monster exhaust there, looks sweet
the reason people collect so many parts is because you only really want to go to the dyno once
if you add anything later its back to the dyno
so you wanna be prepared to finish the job, and not pay out more dyno time

Re: Supercharged Mugen Lude
Thanks everyone.
This was just a tie up off all the other parts I'd bought since my plans, I have started work which I'll post very soon. It's making progress, but Rome wasn't built in a day.
I said from day one I'd try and give as much info as possible in the light of Taffyludes old build thread (now Dino's car). Just didn't realise how much work that would be. I think by the end it's getting into a book kinda territory. It would still be nice to collate all the words and pics and print myself a nice hardback book for a real nice keepsafe.
Loud: Yes, yes it will be loud!
I've known this for a long time, but gauging just HOW loud is difficult until it's all fitted and I fire her up. There's always scope to add more silencers and a larger muffler on the backbox. Plus I don't drive it everyday, so who cares? Probably my neighbours!
Castle Combe might be an issue being my nearest track and with their stringent noise levels. But there's always bungs and the like to sort that out. I just want to try and reach the most power possible on a standard block with a SC setup - aim is still 300bhp or over, which 'I think' I'll acheive now with my choiced mods. Rich at PA will be the cherry on the cake to see it a reality.
Nathan: You see why the traction bar will be so handy for me now, that downpipe is HUGE! Maybe I should have thought about it more when giving him the design, but I'm not looking back, plodding forwards and will make it work.
Merlin: In terms of parts left, all the major things I now have. Only some smaller items to complete things or some cosmetic things. I'd say just like Taffy's build, when you plan to do a build, it's factoring in all the other small items like reaplcing seals, maintenance parts, new oil, plugs, etc. Then there's things I've bought to refresh items, such as prep tools, paint, etc. Then there's having the right tools! I've bought lots of tools during the past 2 years, but having the right tools to hand helps no end.
Dino: Spend away!
In all seriousness, the UK in terms of modifying cars is way behind the US. And the way they do it is shear numbers and people pushing things more and more = spending more money! These cars are old now and cost very little to buy nowadays in the UK (unlike the £3.5k I paid for mine back in 2003!), so most people don't feel they can justify spending alot on modifications. And it's not always possible with people's own cashflow - believe mine has suffered to hell, even spreading it over 2+ years for this build alone. But it's a labour of love, I know it, the missus eventually got it, and I think there's many on here nodding there heads that get it too. (Steps down from soapbox and collects grammy!)
Bennyboy:
I have been busy, it's easy to be sat inside looking at parts and googling info on what to do next, but my garage upstairs reached it's threashold some months back and with a little spring clean and prep of my garage I have a wicked little work area now which has helped me to really crack on with things.
Oh and Solid Fabs Package = EPIC WIN everytime!
Nitin:
right back at ya!
Lude-dude: Nail on the head, I've come to realise the cost of proper tuning and it's better to do it right first time. That's not to say that some things could be progressed more and I'll no doubt be back to Rich! More money!
Ammo: Earplugs? Nah, my ears have softened over time with a missus for so long!
A long reply in my usual style, but if anyone bothers to take time to read my dribble, then they deserve a decent response.
Peace out, enjoy your Friday evenings people, no doubt in the pub watching England!
Cheers,
Rob

Yup I learnt that the hard way with my suspension rebuild. I did replace a few little things as I went, but the nuts and bolts I didn't replace just failed and ended up costing me much more in money and time in the long runnucleustylzlude wrote:Merlin: In terms of parts left, all the major things I now have. Re: Supercharged Mugen Lude
Merlin: Yep, a little budget had to be conjured up for nuts and bolts, so I feel ya there!
Nathan! Oi, cheeky git! Is my smiley face JDM flag not enough for you people! You'll be asking me to actually finish this damn things next!
