I've been looking around at prices for mine recently but it seems your prices look about right for parts. Something that might be worth considering is the manual tensioner conversion from a H23 (think that's right).

While the auto tensioner is fine for standard engines, the more you modify them and squeeze more power out that auto tensioner is more prone to fail and you might be looking at this whole event again.

I mean for the odd mod, fine. But I've seen how keen you are and the mods you have now have come thick and fast. There's always future plans - so if your in doing the rest you may as well future proof it.

I have a list of the parts/Honda parts no's at home for the conversion - but am yet to get a price from Honda for them. You just need a decent mechanic that can do it with the rest of the belt stuff. I was chatting with Richy at PA for prices and what not - obviously he would know how to do this as he's done this many a time in the past on other ludes.

Something to consider.

I was considering it actually. I found a really good how to link yesterday when I was at my folks. It had all the part numbers to. I'll have another look for it here in a minute and post it up if I find it. I did buy a timing belt tensioner mechanism from the same place I'm getting the Gates belts from on ebay. But the actual auto tensioner I think you can only get from Honda anyway for £90 or something. Though I've seen a trader on here can do them for short of £70.

But yes I think you're right Rob... H23 manual tensioner it is then

K, I'm going on the hunt 8)

I think the how to was by skinnyboy on Prelude Australia (Fellow Mugen addict!) - there is a link in Taffyludes engine build.

Good luck bud.

I am a little confused though. I thought the tensioner your getting with the belts is the auto tensioner you'd be replacing for the manual parts? I know there's one for the balance belt too, but not two for the cambelt? I'm sure your looking into this in a little more detail so let me know. I'll have to go and have a leisurely read of the engine part of the manual. :D

Sorry mate. I worded that all really baddly  Yes you're right. If converting to the H23 manual tensioner, you do away with the H22 auto tensioner mechanism (I was saying I ordered one anyway last night as I was unsure which I was going to do, and the place I bought it from was the cheapest for OE quality, and I saved on postage   )

Sorry for the confusion  Anyway, here's the link I found ... Clicky I also posted it... In the wrong place I just realised  I'll go redo it  Ahhhh! my mind's falling apart!

EDIT: There, done. Now in FAQ

Can't view that link at work, but appears to be a different one. I'll add skinnyboy's to the FAQ post of yours if I can find it now (or get on it now).
