Jay's Lude
Re: Jay's Lude
Can't wait
I love my 15s but I feel the lude does look better with a decent set of 17s on. Might keep the 15s for winter/spares. But going to get a few things done this long weekend, especially a decent clean.

Superleggeras fitted and cleaned
All fitted and CLEEEANED

The center caps were silver with red writing, but I'm not a fan of red bits (at least on a silver car) so I sprayed them body silver, lacquered then fitted. I also sprayed the water jets silver again as well, however one is slightly blocked (been like that for a while
)
Turns out I did need that spigot ring from bristol bb4 as the original wheel wasn't perfectly round. All tyres fitted for £20! They didn't balance them though, will need to get that done. But they did give me some free metal caps for the air valve on the tyres.
The car is also at an angle due to the driveway, so the tyres aren't as close to the arch as they seem, it's just leaning slightly. They've also raised the car a bit so I don't need to worry about speed bumps anymore and I can fit the jack under without someone having to lift the car up
And I fitted the new mats Bri sent me, I'd worn through the heel of the original ones. I quite like these funky ones though
Gave the interior a good clean and conditioned the leather as well.
I used some Wet n Black stuff, keeps the tyre walls looking black and shiny, on the quarter panel window rubber because it was all faded and grey. Made a bit of difference, it's black again at least! I recommend it (but keep it off the paint).
It's surprising how much of a difference having a clean car makes

Re: Jay's Lude
Definitely. They're like the ones I got my car with but much lighter!Pushki wrote:Lovely! The best wheels ever for a 4th gen'.
The steering feels very light now, need to see what it's like on a blast but around town it was very light compared to the 15s. Might need to try that PAS pipe thing.

Yeah I didn't ask, I assumed they would. Still, went for a drive earlier and there was no shaking but high speed will tell.
Yep been busy today
Opened the car earlier and the smell of clean leather
That Gliptone stuff is good.
Yep been busy today

Wheels look greatHow come they didn't balance the wheels then?... Simply because you didn't ask? That would seem daft.

Re: Jay's Lude
I've just noticed, the brakes look so cissy now
Merc - lol, something like that
When the weathers nice I need to get the interior out and sort the wires in the boot, looks an absolute mess
I'll also have to fit the heated seats then so I can run the wires.
- Redo interior wiring (CarPC/speakers)
- Fit heated seat elements
- Fit rear spats
- Paint plastic sills
- Tidy headlight wiring
- Replace fog light bulbs
- Bleed brakes
- Clean engine bay
- Fit exhaust header heat wrap
Got some new Mintex pads coming (just the standard Mintex OE stuff I think) so I'll replace the brake fluid then. Looks like I also need to replace the rear brake discs but that's ok because I have new ones in the shed!
