Jay's Lude
Re: Jay's Lude
Cheers man.
Let me know when you do! We'll have to have a drive over the mountain road, see if the S is all it's cracked up to be
I'd wait until the ferry prices have gone down, they're criminal over the TT

Re: Jay's Lude
Turns out one of the droplinks at the rear (brand new one) is somehow knocking, couldn't quite understand what he was saying but I think the rubber bushig is deformed somehow and is allowing it too much movement.
So that needs sorting, and I need to raise the rears a bit more (just had the whole car raised but he couldn't do the rears any further due to the dirt, so I'll need to clean it and raise it slightly). The fronts have been raised which means less arch rubbing but I think the fronts are higher than the rears now!
But after the raise they could do the tracking properly, now she drives straight again
So that and getting the dents done is the next big job, they're really starting to get to me! Should hopefully be a simple job from Dent Devils.

Re: Jay's Lude
I'm starting a new job early next month so with any luck I'll have a week off between jobs. Might try and get some work done on the car, weather permitting!
- Redo wiring (CarPC/speakers)
- Fit heated seat elements
- Fit rear spats
- Paint plastic sills
- Tidy headlight wiring
- Replace fog light bulbs
- Remove exhaust heatshields (temporary, trying to find a rattle!)
- Polish headlights
- Remove dents
- Check and replace rear ARB droplink
- Check valve clearances
- Check timing
- Lower front suspension, raise rear suspension

Cheers Indigo.
Nafe - I'll be helping to develop in-house, browser based apps (PHP and MSSQL) for a company on the Island (financial stuffs). I haven't used PHP much, just been VBScript mostly but in my week off between jobs I'm going to get some practice in. Should be some good experience.

Re: Jay's Lude
A long overdue update!
Not much has been done other than having the shocks off and worked on because they'd sezied; I couldn't raise the car!
I also painted the sills body colour (finally!) and re-did the CarPC wiring:
The cables were bound together and routed along under the center console and carpet. Any excess was cable tied neatly out the way.
Raised a bit now, however I might lower her very slightly again. Definitely needs a wash, forgot how good the car looks when it's clean!
Also, that damn rattle was fixed. It was only a loose bolt on the heatshield, although how three garages had missed that when I asked them to check it out is beyond me. The garage who changed the oil/did the suspension for me are expensive, but bloody worth it!
So a few things from the list
- Fit heated seat elements
- Fit rear spats
- Tidy headlight wiring
- Replace fog light bulbs
- Polish headlights
- Remove dents
- Check valve clearances
- Check timing
