Re: Rad brackets, Momo wheel and a clone..

Post by bennyboy » Thu May 09, 2013 11:02 pm

Well it's been a bit slow on the profile front, due to the arrival of this little luder just over a month ago:

Before that, as some of you know my car was hit :( :

After the usual insurance rigmarole, all was well again:

Image

So I'm working my way through the little stuff these days, you may remember the rad brackets of doom looking like this after a sand blast and a couple of coats of Zinc182:

Image

Well I finally gave them a few coats of smooth finish Hammerite:

Nice! 8-) Except....:

Spot the difference
The set I picked up were from a lude without CC, so dont have that little tab. No bother, I've now sand blasted the original so that will get the treatment and be installed soon 8-)

Also, a little acquisition from another LG'er:

Apparently OEM Honda optional Momo wheel, don't mind if I do :D

Have also picked up a boss, looking to fit this in the near future, with a small rocker switch for setting CC.

Back to perfection :D Phew!

At least that rad mount thing wasn't too expensive a mistake

And nice wheel ;-)

Cheers Nafe :D

Yeah the rad mount thing was me trying to be too clever - pick up a cheap set to refurb then just swap them with te originals.
Couldn't believe I hadn't noticed the difference all the way through the refurb  :tosser:

I was planning to do similar with the wiper arms, which have a few marks again after being resprayed a few years back.
Whats the bets I buy two rear wiper arms or something..... :x

That wheel should suit the 4G cockpit nicely 8-)

TBH mate, I take it all with a pinch of salt.
I've seen so many variations and concoctions of ludes over the years, it all kind of blends into one

I need to do the same with the 3rd gen, but I was simply going to wait until we had a definite long streak of decent weather and remove them to paint and just drive around without them for a couple days. Naughty I know, but hey ;-)

Wow that was some reading! Nice work and an inspiration. I hope to unlock some of the potential ponies in mine in the future. Loving the time and effort that have gone into this car. Loving the build and one day I hope to get a lump off to PAW. Till then its just the Funky Bri Driveway Works  Got to get A7 I.M and one of them ECUs and 8lb fly.
