Cheers for the comments guys... Glad you like it

Rob: Yeah the quality of the rad is spot on to. The only thing to be weiry of theirs apparently is their actual turbos, but nothing for either of us to be concerned about ;-)

Removing the aircon's a doddle isn't it? :) Have you removed the refridgerator unit from behind the glove box yet? Because after having nelected to remove it myself when I removed all the engine components because I was expecting it to be a dash out job, turns out it's not. It's a glovebox removal (6-7 screws) then the easily accessable fixing screws of the fridge itself (again 6 or 7) And then the whole thing slides out ;-)

Image

I just need to get my hands on the duct from a non-aircon lude to go in it's place. I had toyed with the idea of removing the blower and air distributor as well to save more weight, but I didn't like the idea of steaming up and not being able to do anything about it

You'll have enough hose to loop the lines when you remove the PAS. The only thing I've not linked back up yet are the two below the VSS as they're different sizes...

Image

I've not really tried a decent bit of hose yet. I tried boring one end of an old piece out to fit the larger OD, but it just broke up :)

Got a few more goodies recently, so should hopefully have some more pretty pictures sometime this week ;-)

Can he get arrested for that? ;)

Speaking with someone else last night who is stripping his lude of the heavy extras and you don't need the non-aircon ducting piece. You can actually strip the aircon refrigerator unit down to a fairly bare unit as the ducting.

This is what Dino has done to his the last couple he's had.

Might try this on the weekend if I get 5 minutes. :D

(LB) Custom Front Light Loom & Bonnet Lifters Fitted

Post by NafemanNathan » Tue Feb 07, 2012 12:13 pm

Had a bit of bad news on the Polo yesterday... It failed it's MOT big time :( It's not cost effective to get it fixed, so I was gonna be on the hunt for a new car this weekend.

Anyway, I was in the middle of my cable tuck when I got the call, so I finished binding the wing looms together...

Obviously I'll be conduiting the loom up, but I decided to slap the wings back on for now until I know just how much conduit I need, and in order to cheer myself about the whole MOT failure, I decided to fit one of my newly acquired purchases ;-) ...

It's amazing how not needing a bonnet prop gives an illusion of so much more room and access when leaning over the engine. They lift the bonnet higher to... and obviously look great 8) ;-)

The link won't work because the swear filter inserts '****' for h-o-o-d.

Best wishes, Colin
vanzep wrote:Thats brilliant stuff Nathan - really inspiring me to do a couple of the jobs you have done recently - so its out with the Aircon as a pipe has broken and i will fit bonnet gas struts as i took my bonnet prop out as it was rattling about and annoying me - so both jobs are being done for a reason and should improve life a little-excellent!

That's the picture they use, but they're subtley different. Still matt black, but have no writing on them and different ends.

(LB) New Wings West RS Lip Kit

Post by NafemanNathan » Tue Feb 07, 2012 12:17 pm

Not done a great deal on Patch over the past week or two, so just thought I'd show you what I acquired the weekend before last 8) ...

Excuse the quality of the pics, but I'll get some better ones once it's offered up ;) ...

And the plan... Something like this  ...

I also managed to get my hands on an Type-R Accord inlet manifold from ebay yesterday to :D Wasn't cheap cheap, but a bargain none the less. This'll mean I won't be held up with getting my rather complex custom manifold made, I'll have no IAB's to worry about (Which means more gumph to rid of from the engine bay :D  ) and I'll only have to have the mouth bored out to suit my larger throttle body ;-)
