I was looking into buying the head and getting this company to port and polish it but doing some research I found out that it would be really expensive for the amount of BHP I will gain.

Depending on how much head work you get done and what other upgrades you have depends on whether it'd be worth while or not. I fully intend to have a practice run at port and polishing on my spare head (the one my belt snapped on), and after this incident I think I'll just go Skunk2 or Brian Crower cams, with valve train. Think it'd be more satisfying to say I've put it all together myself ;-)

Oh and I'm definitely getting a refund. I just thought it was pointless him paying to send it back to himself again, and then paying a third time to send it o the next person. And being I'm in a better position than him, I offered to hold on to it for him and see if I can find a buyer ;-)

I know! I canni believe it!

It's sad in this day and age when you automatically prepare yourself for the worst :( But hey... makes you appreciate when the positive things happen more I guess ;-)

(LB) The Flood

Post by NafemanNathan » Tue Feb 07, 2012 1:01 pm

So I had a free evening this evening, so thought I'd do a little to the lude. I feel I've been neglecting her a little too much recently... And I think she's been feeling the same... I think she's been crying inside... Literally... :( ...

I've obviously removed something from doing my cable tuck that I shouldn't have (I'm mid way) So it looked like I was going to have to strip out my interior a little ahead of schedule

My intentions tonight were to remove the front seats anyway, so as I could lie upside-down in the foot wells to re-route my electrics, so I remove those...

Then I proceeded to scoop to water out. You can see just how deep it was  ...

Image

Then I removed the passenger half of the carpet. The driver's side hadn't been effected and I figured it'd be more comfortable to lie on carpet than bare profiled metal.

It wasn't all bad though. Cha Ching!!! :D ...

Image

Then out came the rags and after a good wipe down, clean as a whistle ;-) ... And more importantly... No rust! ;-)

Then after my potato and leek soup I proceeded to dry and re-label the loom that ha been sat in the foot well. Fortunately it wasn't that bad at all really. Only a few of the plugs had been semi-submerged and none look to be damage. Feww!

Now I really should get on and finish this tuck!... Once I've had a look for the leak in daylight of course ;-)

I have no idea! :? There's a few holes in the bulkhead at the minute as I've pulled out the bungs as part of the tuck, but there's no way any water could have got in there and there's no trace. I've removed all the gumph from here...

Image

But the only way water could get in is through here...

Image

But there's no way the water got in that way. And the holes to the right of that are drain holes which run the water outside of the car... Though I have just noticed what looks to be a slot to he left of the inlet in that pic :?

I guess I'll just have to examine it tomorrow.

Maybe have to sit in the car next time it rains?
